Healy Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine Inc.  Personal Trainer

Joann Ayuso

Joann Ayuso holds a B.S. in Exercise Physiology from the University of Massachusetts, Boston, a Physical Therapist Assistant degree and is a Licensed Massage Therapist specializing in post-rehabilitative work as well as deep tissue and sports massage.

Joann's service in the Army Reserve included an initial training of three months in boot camp.  After just two weeks of training she wanted nothing more than to go home, but made the decision to stick it out and gave 100% both physically and mentally. She soon became the leader of her platoon and received many awards and commendations. She credits the peer support of other female reservists with helping motivate her to succeed. She feels that her boot camp experience turned her into the person she is today, giving her the confidence to believe she can conquer any challenge.

After completing massage therapy school, Joann worked as a Chiropractors Assistant and a Licensed Massage Therapist with a private client base of massage patients.  While attending UMass full-time, Joann also became a full-time personal trainer at Boston Sports Club in Wellesley. She was part of a team chosen to work with a nationally renowned fitness guru to design a functional training circuit for BSC members.

Joann specializes in:
* working with women
* body toning
* increasing strength
* functional training
* muscle gain
* weight loss through supportive nutrition

She pays specific attention to detail when a client has a history of injury.  She will make sure that every session is safe, challenging, and most of all, fun. Every training session will contain physical and mental challenges that will include functional training, kettle bells, free weights and interval cardio training.
Joann enjoys playing basketball, kettle bell training, hiking and running hills with her boxer.
